Leather and pumps

Have you noticed we have been shooting with structured backgrounds lately? Geometric shapes create such an interesting backdrop in photographs. They are the perfect examples for modern, more city-like settings (oh, of course, vertical lines always make you look thinner, right?)

This is my first leather jacket that I purchsed for myself years ago from Revolve clothings. SWORD is rarely seen anywhere now (what happened to them?) but when I bought it I had no idea how great the leather quality is and made in Italy. I highly recommend this brand if you are looking for middle-end very nice quality leather jacket. Being a colour lover, I had to throw in some fuschia and red into the mix. I am in the market for a bright cheery coloured coat (winter sale anywhere?), do you have any suggestions for me?

"I have nothing to wear"

Just like the title of this post, I literarily stood in front of my closet, "I have NOTHING to wear"! Are you with me? You have days like this right? I hope I can go "shopping in my closet" and magically conjure up different looks from all of these relatively old cloths but today is one of those brain-dead moments.
You have seen me wearing this denim coat before (earliest seen here) as well as my many versions of stripped tops but what the heck, they look good together haha.

We walked around the Portland Streetcar Art Museum this morning. The architecture is so interesting and unique. I love all the vertical pattern and the mix of colours. I hope you are having a great Friday and a great weekend ahead. I am off to continue searching for inspirations in my closet (until I can go shopping again).

Weekend at the Bellevue Hyatt

Since photographer man and I had to work during Valentine's Day, we decided to leave town for the weekend as a "mini-belated celebration" for the two of us. We love to go up to Seattle occassionally. The town has great food, shopping and our favourite sport, table tennis. We stayed at the Bellevue Hyatt, a four star hotel and had a wonderful time. The weather was not surprisingly, cold and rainy so we had to stay indoor for some quick outfit shots. I hope you dont find these photos utterly boring. I promise I will have better ones later this week!

Spring is coming

Spring.....can you feel it? I am so glad I can wear my colourful denim. I bought this pair along with the red wax jeans last month from Myhabit and have not had a chance wearing them (you saw me wearing the red pair here though). I also recently scored this beautiful Missoni infinity scarf off Shopbop at 70% off. Got to love a great deal. This is my first infinity scarf, there is only one way wearing it, right? Please tell me if you have other ideas of how to style it.

Have a great weekend beauties. I am going out of town to celebrate V-day a few days late with photographer man. I am hoping for lots of yummy food, good times and maybe squeeze in some shopping if we can!

Happy Lunar New Year

For those of you who celebrated the Lunar New Year, my belated greeting :) All of my family lives aboard so it was just a rather normal weekend for me. I had to sit in a classroom all day on Saturday so we decided to relax and went to our favourite Italian resturant for lunch on Sunday. I came upon this cute loft who had red laterns hung up on their front door! Adorable!
Traditionally you have to wear red during the Lunar New Year. I did not want to hurt your eyes wearing red so I took out my favourite red Rebecca Minkoff bag and my comfy DV by Dolce Vita booties in bright orange. I wish I was back home with family and eating all of the yummy food but it's ok knowing that they still had fun on their own :)

A touch of red

I was in a bit of a rush today. You know, it happens to you too. You plan on leaving the house at a reasonable hour in the morning..wait..you forgot something...wait, you saw some messy stuff left in the bathroom, gotta clean that before you forget...one thing lead to another, by the time you actually left the house, you are a hour behind schedule....opps........ :/
I had about 5 mintues for these shots. The only good thing is I manage to save my hands from getting freezing into ice-sticks...I hope you will forgive me for my "less-than-glamorous" pictures today. Funky

I am so glad to see the weather is finally starting to get warmer (low teens in C still haha). One thing you can definitely appreciate nowadays is that daylight is longer. No longer do we see sun setting at a depressing 3 in the afternoon.
I was inspired by one of my favourite bloggers KTRstyle's Instagram post today. She was told by someone that "print mixing is played out" and to prove them wrong she wore a gorgeous leopard and floral together (check out her Instagram msktreed here). Well, to prove this person wrong, I am mixing stripes on stripes (in different directions) today. I may not be as brave as KTRstyle but I am taking baby steps :)

I love colours

On our way to grab lunch in the famous Portland Food Carts today, we decided to park a little bit further and just walked. I mean, the sun was out (briefly) and the road was dry so why not?  If you are visiting Portland, you must stop by and taste some of the yummy food from the food carts. My favourite is E-San Thai. They have the best curry selection and the portion is absolutely huge. We often have left-over for dinner. Oh, did I mention that every dish is around $6? Definitely come and try them out :)
