What I love about Portland

It's hard to believe it but I have been living in Portland for over 10 years now. This city is the first American city I have ever lived in (and the only one so far). When I first arrived here (I came here for school all the way from New Zealand), I was seriously home sick. Everything seemed so different and foreign. It is not until the last few years I started to feel more connected to the city. I had time to slow down, take a deep breath and looked around. There is a saying "Keep Portland Weird". Most people chuckle about it when they see the sign around town but that is what makes Portland unique. The people (like a melting pot from all over the places, globally), the food (heaps of hidden little eats here and there) and all the beautiful greeneries.

The only think that is missing is an ocean nearby (New Zealand is surrounded by water of course being an island). I think I have now found my second home. Welcome to Portland, Oregon :)

Purple floral maxi dress and accompanying denim jacket last seen here
Balenciaga Coquelicot City bag from the lovely Julie (check out her blog here), Sam Edelman sandals (pretty pink ones on sale here) and Lindberg sunnies.
Borsalini owl charm (their fb page here)
Caught a glimpse of the super moon! I think I can see the first landing up there (yap, just kidding haha).
Come visit Portland and get ready to fall in love :)

Back to basic

As much as I adore colours, sometimes I just want to go back to basics, aka, black and white. This is actually a dress, although it does look like a two piece assemble. I have been feeling rather bloated lately (must be all the late night snacks....omg!) so all I wanted to wear is something comfy! The waistline is elastic which is perfect to hide my "less than perfect body" at the moment.
Speaking of figure, I must get back to my more healthy eating habit. We all know it does not feel great to be on your "heavier" weight. Tell me, what do you do when you need to trim down while remain eating healthy?

Black and white dress (gift from mum), Sam Edelman sandals, Rebecca Minkoff "made in NYC" MAC and Lindberg sunnies.
Cartier Roadster watch, bracelets from Etsy (my fav seller here)
Beautiful lotus pond
I am so in love with these Sam Edelman sandals I want to wear them everyday! (on sale here)
Thanks for reading, I hope you are enjoying your weekend :)

Asymmetrical cream dress

It's been a LONG time since I last wore this skirt (I wore it in SF here). Asymmetrical hemline was all the rage last summer and I am glad it is still somewhat in trend. What I love about this dress is the elastic waistline. We went for a late brunch (1pm to be exact) afterwards so the elasticity came in handy with all the waffles I devoured!
You fellow bloggers out there, have you ever shown your parents your blog especially say, your father? I will share a little comment my dad made whenever he sees my post (because my dear mother insisted on showing them to him) "you always look the same, why don't you just feature the cloth you wear?".....gotta love my dad haha, always so "witty" and brutally honest. So, do you have any suggestions on how should I "pose" then?

Bear Two cream dress and cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff red MAC, Etsy earrings and bracelets, Omega watch and A.So sandals and Lindberg sunnies.
Found this awesome wall next to a seafood shop. It reminds me of a cartooned ocean, so cute!

Trust me, I did apply lipgloss but my lips still look so bare!
Thank you so much for reading! Have a great week guys!

Mid summer forest walk

One of the best things about summer is taking a walk at the nearby trail. This trial is really close to where we are and it is a little hidden gem we discovered after moving into the neighbourhood a few years ago. Living in the northwest whereas nature is literarily everywhere, we omit how lucky we are to have all these beautiful trees around us (ignore the allergy lol). Fresh air and gentle sunshine, I heart you! <3

AE T-shirt (here) and white jeans shorts (love these), F21 jean vest (darker colour here), Sam Edelman Ginger sandals (on sale here), Rebecca Minkoff Large Affair (regular size here), H&M straw hat and Lindberg sunnies.
Cartier Roadster watch a teddy and bow stretch bracelets (from my friend's Etsy shop here)
Any of you traveling to anywhere fun? Please share your blog post link with me. I'd love to read about them!

Dreaming Las Vegas

These are some quick snapshots of me in Las Vegas near the Cosmopolitan hotel last week. It was so hot (temperature between 44C/110F during the day to 38C/90F at night) I could barely breath comfortably outside. On our last night we finally finished all the tournament and took a walk near our hotel Vdara to the very beautiful Cosmopolitan hotel. For those of you who do not gamble or party until the wee ours like myself, I highly recommend stayingat the Vdara hotel. This is a high-end family suite hotel room without a casino in it (and not too expensive either). The room is so quiet that I did not hear a thing at night (not even a door closes, neighbours etc).
Photos were taken around 8pm and the sun was just setting. I would love to go back to Vegas but perhaps not in the middle of the flaming summer next time. Well, Vegas, until we meet again :)

Old dress gifts from mum, Casio white baby-G watch, black Rebecca Minkoff MAC (made in NYC).
Creepy awesome giant screen inside the Cosmopolitan lobby
At the pool in our hotel Vdara. Bikini is from Victoria's Secret <3 Excuse for my big bruise on my leg, I have no idea where that came from lol
Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend lovelies <3

My two new things

Ok, two new things here. One, is my first PS1 bag. I have been wanting one for a while now but never could pull the trigger paying retail price. I looked at it every time I see one at the department stores. To me, the size is perfect. It's similar to my Balenciaga City (which I shamelessly own 5) and the Rebecca Minkoff Covet bag but it has the adjustable strap which allows me to wear it cross-body. One of the best things about the PS1 is it's organization design. The back zipped pocket is probably the best thing to just slit my Iphone in. You can find many reviews of the PS1 bags so I won't bore you any longer. I was also lacking a purple colour bag so when Hgbags was doing a big promo I instantly decided on this beautiful "plum" colour.
Second thing is my big passion for the hit HBO show Game of Thrones. My brother introduced me to the show when I went back to Brisbane last year. The show has since gained much popularity and is now into it's 4th season (2014). It has many of the elements I love in a show, fantasy (dragons), sword fights, beautiful people to look at and gorgeous costumes! When these T-shirts came out a couple of weeks ago, I jumped and ordered one. The Targaryen is my favourite "clan" and since I am a "dragon" myself (lunar year) I have a strange affection when it comes to these mysterious creatures ;)
Game of Thrones T here,  PS1 bag in plum from Hgbags, H&M necklace and Lindberg sunnies
Sales for these T's end today. Hurry!

Weekend bliss

Just some quick snapshots of me last weekend. I am still in Las Vegas hopefully surviving the heat when this post is posted. I love this tulip-shaped bow skirt my mum got me a couple of years ago. I always get compliment wearing it. The only problem is the material is made out of thick cotton. Just between you and me, I was sweating like crazy underneath it lol.

Givenchy small Antigona bag, Born sandals, graphic T and skirt are both gifted from mum, Sama sunglasses.
Most of you have heard of The Purse Forum. I joined the forum a few years ago and although I am not as active like I was before, I have made a few good friends through it. Today I met up with The Gore Princess (check out her beautiful nail polish blog here) and had brunch together. Our love over Rebecca Minkoff bags is what brought us together. Isn't she the cutest thing? It's so nice to finally met you TGP!
Thanks so much for reading. Enjoy summer ;)

Summer flowers

Happy July everyone!! I apologize for less posts in the past few days and the next few days as well. I am away in the souring HOT Las Vegas for the US Table-Tennis Open Championship. I have been to Vegas a few times but never in the middle of summer. I hope to bring you back some of my Vegas pictures...I brought my bikini from Victoria Secrets with me. No promises haha, I will only show them if I don't look too bloated....ack!
In the meantime, here are some pictures of me wearing one of my favourite floral pants this season while shopping for some last minute essentials for the trip!

Top by Levi's, Korean floral pants last seen here, Sam Edelman Trina Sandals (love this), Casio baby-G watch in white (here) and Givenchy small Antigona bag.

YSL Arty ring, Judith Ripka ring in RG (here)
I don't wear any make-up so I am almost always in sunnies. I hope my face looks ok. I was squinting a little bit :D
As always, thank you for reading lovelies <3
