The denim on denim trend

This is definitely NOT a new thing...... this denim on denim trend so I'd better get on with it. I did not realize these jeans have gotten so loose on me. Either I have lost weight or they have stretched (I am banking on the later) so I do apologize for them looking so unfitted on me. While anxiously waiting for the arrival of warmer weather, I refuse to dig out my buried winter coat (it is VERY tempting though).
Do you also find it is hard to dress during this "in between weather"? Share your ideas with me as I am running low and dry!

One spring afternoon

There are so many versions of the high wedged sneakers out there. Let's face it, they are not everyone's cup of tea, including myself when they first made themselves to the scene by no others than Isabel Marant (here). At $650 a pair, I really can not justify spending that much especially on a pair of "trendy" shoes (my shoe spending limit is usually under $200. There are so many different versions of this high wedge sneakers out there ranging from Aldo, Sketcher...just to name a few. Long story short, I found this pair of Ash wedge sneakers during last week's Nordstrom online sale (non meshed version here on sale). My friend Amanda and I discussed how I would be wearing them and sharing ideas of outfits for a couple of weeks........ I finally bought them and received them yesterday.
Thoughts? They are really comfortable and easy to pull on and off. The only thing I am a bit unsure is they seem to run 1/2 size big especially in the front toe area and around my ankles. I thought about getting a size smaller but when I stand up and walk around with them, my feet slide forwardly due to the heels and all of a sudden that space in front of my toe disappears....I guess size 7 does equal to a 38...I think I am good for now.
You will be seeing me wearing them more in the near future as I do have plans with more summary outfits. In the meantime, tell me your thoughts on this high wedged sneakers trend?

Workwear

I thought I would show you what I normally wear on a daily basis. I have a full time professional job so although I would love to really dress up like some of the fashion bloggers, it is almost impossible for me to do so. For those of you who also is a career woman, do you have any dress code to follow?
Rocking my favourite Rebecca Minkoff MAC in red. I honestly love this bag. I have carried it so many times to everywhere, the colour is starting to fade around the corners (so sad).

Do I look like Christmas tree with my green and red(s)?
Have a great rest of the week. I know I am tired already.

Spring rain

After two weeks of unusually nice warm weather, Portland is now back being..well..Portland! Cool chilly and wet weather is once again here. Well, at least my lawn is not complaining. I realised my hair is getting rather long. I am going in for a trim in a few weeks but I intend to keep it long through summer :)

Being casual is what I love

I love to dress up occasionally but most of the time I am mostly dress for comfort. Cotton is my absolute favourite material to put on (aka T-shirt and demin). We were given two tickets to our local soccer (football) the Timbers' game this afternoon. We decided to get a simple lunch at the Bridgeport Brewery (had yummy mussels and fries) before heading to the game.
I love the little gremlin on this T. A little sparkle goes a long way :)

Cotton T by Iroo, old hippie skirt, Born wedge (loving this pair), Et Boite jean jacket and Balenciaga Outremer City bag (get them from Hgbags).

Tourmaline and pink cross bracelets (later one from MyBeautifulBags)
Thanks for reading! Have a great rest of the week :)

Scenery dress on repeat

I have not worn this dress since Sep of last year when I went back to see my family in Brisbane, Australia (see here). I have a slight love-hate relationship with this dress. It is uber comfortable, easy to put on (zipper pull in the front) and has gorgeous texture....it is slightly puffy around the upper tummy area...so no, I am not expecting guys lol I just look "wider" due to the dress :D

I am so thrilled to see these Sam Eldeman sandals "Trina" (here) arrived from Zappos yesterday. I was craving them all last summer but they were always sold out on my size (darn that size 7). So when I saw them came out with new colours, I acted fast and snatched them. I MUST tell you they are immediately comfortable on my feet, no break-in period needed. I am in love with them. Sam Edelman never disappoints. I am already looking at his other gladiator sandals for summer.

Balenciaga Mangue City bag (HgBags), Lindberg sunglassess and David Yurman moonstone ring
I love the reflective gold heels! So edgy :)
Thanks for reading everyone!

Leather shorts for spring

I am so happy to discover that I can actually wear my faux leather shorts in the warmer season. Skip the tight and put on a pair of wedge sandals...voola! (one of my favourite winter looks with them seen here). One good thing about living in Portland, you can never get too warm to wear some layer. You will find me carrying a light jacket even dduring the warmest months (July-August).
I had a relaxing weekend. I walked around the city, did some shopping and enjoyed yummy Italian food with a glass of red. Spring is my favourite season (minus the allergy). I hope you are having a great time with your current weather :)

Pink spring

Sorry for the lack of post this past week. I was out of town over the weekend for a tournament but now I am back!! Today is definitely a perfect example of how beautiful Portland is during spring/summer. I decided to brighten up even more by wearing this bright fuchsia pink light jacket and my newly acquired pink sandals. Both items were acquired from my trip overseas last month (you saw my shoes first on my Instagram).
I hope weather is treating you nicely on your end. Happy May, happy spring :)
