Brick wall

In searching for a colourful background to bring out my grey and dull outfit today, we came across this corner of brick wall. This is the exact outfit I wore to work that day. Today is one of those days I just throw on the first thing I saw when I walked into my closet. Comfort is what matters today and I did exactly that.
I stole this blazer straight from my mother's closet. It is cropped, fitted with 3/4 sleeves. I almost HAD to steal it haha.
Made in NYC Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag.

Have a blessed weekend. I am currently in LA competing (table-tennis tournament). Follow me on Instagram (kiwifashionblog) for more updated photos.

Versatility of a denim jacket

I can never have enough denim jackets. Frankly speaking, I have not bought too many for myself. Two of them were given by my mother, and they are really old. And then there are some other denim-ish shirts that are somewhat over-sized and light washed. This past weekend, I got a 25% off coupon for H&M's back to school promotion. I was determined to use it on something. So guess what I bought? A denim jacket!

I like to cuff the sleeves to show off the accessories plus it allows me to move more freely (ok, I just don't have super long arms). The cut is on the close fit side but not too tight or too cropped. I am able to botton it all the way up but since it is still somewhat warm, I much prefer to just let it unbuttoned and pair it with a light floral summer dress underneath.

Leaf camouflaged

If you follow me on Instagram (kiwifashionblog) you would have seen me wearing this skort a few times. I love the fact it's a full skirt-shape with the convenience of being a skort to accommodation a klutz like myself. Right before these photos were taken, the man and I went to a local farmer's market and bought some really delicious locally grown/made treats (including a huge black and white cookie,a bag of loose granola and some giant blackberries).
Do you like to go to your local farmer's market? Although prices are often higher than the regular grocery stores, I always try to get a couple of things to support local small business owners. Eating organic healthy food while supporting your local farmers community is something I hope we all do :)
Stella & Dot Isla drop earrings (in aqua here, I LOVE them), Givenchy Antigona bag in small and Sam Edelman Ginger sandals (pink ones on sale here) and Lindberg sunnies.

A pressie I bought for my mum but I am borrowing them until I see her in a couple of months (hehehe)
Have a fantastic week. See you on my IG and/or the next post!

Coral and white

Summer is all about mixing colours! I try to pair things I don't normally think about pairing together in the cooler months now and hopefully I'd end up looking decent. Everyone needs a clean, crisp white blazer. This one is another oldie that's been living inside my closet for almost 10 years. I don't even remember who bought it (mum or I) or where but not only it still fits me perfectly, the colour has hardly faded. I love 3/4 sleeve jacket/blazer. Since I almost only wear bracelets during summer, this length shows off the arm-candy appropriately while still keeping me warm in the air-conditioned office.

I am off to Vegas tomorrow to be with a girlfriend for 3 days. I am very excited while a bit nervous as well since I don't normally travel alone. It will be a bit of an adventure for me :)
Coral dress last seen here, Givenchy Antigona bag, Aso Shoes and Lindberg sunngies.
I am slightly addicted to this Sommervell necklace from Stella and Dot. TAG watch and both bracelets are from Etsy.
This little street looks very east-coast to me.
It's hard to see here but my toes are actually tiffany blue on the toes and the rest a minty green.
Have a great Sunday, and thanks for reading.

Twirling around

I have developed an obsession with statement custom jewelry lately. Let's face it, statement pieces are not new to the fashion scene but I am a rather late bloomer! I have found a few online shopping resources that I highly recommended. You guys should really check them out 1. Stella & Dot, 2. BaubleBar and 3. Anarchy Street.

I will let this Somervell necklace do the talking. It really dresses up my old plain cotton T-shirt don't you think? I can't wait to get more pieces, but, a few at a time is probably a wise decision. We don't want to get way ahead of ourselves, do we? :D
Stella&Dot Summervell necklace (here), cross beaded bracelet from Etsy
Balenciaga Outremer City, Sam Edelman Trina sandals and Lindberg sunnies.
Do you guys agree that investing in statement jewelry is more worth while than fashion pieces?
Thanks so much for reading! Have a great week!

Accesorised

It's a day filled with labour intensive errands such as buying furniture for the office, shopping for a week worth of grocery and hauling them all back to your tiny car under 30C heat. Comfy cotton T and jean shorts immediately came into mind when dressing up. I later switched into my trusty Birkinstock sandals but keep the accessories. By the time we got home I had to sit under the fan and sipped on ice tea for the rest of the remaining afternoon.
I have always loved bracelets but summer is the only time you'd see me wearing bracelets. During the colder months my arms are constantly being covered up by layers of clothing so there is really no point of wearing any arm candy. I envy those of you who can still dress up your wrists during winter.

AE neon cotton T(worn here), Ombre jean shorts (last seen here), Born sandals(love this pair too) and Balenciaga Mangue City bag.

HRH collection bracelet (here), raw ruby ring (Etsy find here), Spike bracelet from Anarchy Street and David Yurman moonstone ring (old).

Old Portland

We drove pass this building all the time in downtown Portland but never did we stop and take a closer look at it! Finally today we walked to lunch and spent a few minutes to actually look at this beautifully old structure.
Do you ever feel like you are going at a way faster pace and never had the time to slow down and appreciate what is around you? Park the car somewhere further and take a walk. The city may appear so differently. Cherish every moment when you are healthy and alive. It's the littlest thing that counts :)
p.s. my skirt is here more than 10 years old (I had it since end of my high school year haha). It's all things old today!
Hidden heel sneakers from Ash, PS1 medium bag in plum from HgBags
My new favourite bloom necklace from BaubleBar (I'm hooked), stackable rings from Stella & Dot
I am getting ready to go on a 3 day trip with a girlfriend. I can't wait :)

Childhood throw back

Growing up, unlike most of the girls who were into Hello Kitty, I fell in love with this cutie little bunny My Melody (anyone here agrees with me?) I started collecting stuffed bunny at the age of 5. Every opportunity I had I'd ask for a bunny toy. I have now collected at least close to 20 in total (but it is nothing compare to my mother's bear collection though. There is a picture of a part of her collection in my Instagram here).
Anyway, speaking of bunny. I already have two adorable chinchillas so I can't bring myself to add another pet into our house. When I saw Uniqlo was selling this My Melody T, I had to have it. Luckily these days, age is just a number when it comes to graphic T (so I tell myself).

Uniqlo My Melody graphic T (here), F21 denim vest, denim skirt is from Taiwan, Sam Edelman Trina sandals, Balenciaga City, Casio Baby-G white watch and Lindberg sunnies.
My favourite Sam Edelman sandals Trina and my very bright neon pink toes
