Early spring rain

I was ignoring my scarves in the beginning of the season. Like many of you, I go through phases in terms of dressing up. Last year was all about skinny jeans (waxed or leather-like texture) with ankle boots. This year I kind of went back to what makes me the most comfortable, shorts/skirts/skorts with tights and a bold scarf. This look is nothing new. You see loads of girls (or boys) sporting the same look over and over again yet we never grow tired of it (not I). This look is easy, fuss-free, classic and flatters any figure.
As winter starts winding down, the rain has returned as well. I must be the only person in the entire city who is wearing sunglasses in the rain. Hey, don't make fun. There is just as much harmful UV ray during cloudy days as on a sunny day. Must protect those precious eyeballs :)

Colours clashes

I am weak! I was just telling you how I will be in hiding in black and dark colours clothing for a while until I lose the winter weight in my last post, here I am sporting all sorts of crazy hues again! I began choosing my outfit today around this bright starred red tight. I have quite a bit of tight collection I won't lie. Most of them are your everyday opaque black, grey and brown However, I do own a few more "out there" ones. After decided on the tight and the dress, I just couldn't find any back basic long sleeved t-shirt to go underneath the dress. Ok, I thought, it's not bad, at least the majority of my outfit is still black (including my handbag). But then look what happened? I put on the most colourful coat and stopped by the reddest garage door I saw, and voila here is me and my love for bright colours :)

I hope you have your sunglassess on when viewing these pictures. I do apologise for the uber saturated colours but I just couldn't help it. I love colours!

Monochromatic

I normally love to dress in colours. Whether it is handbags, accessories, shoes or clothing. I love colours. However, when you got a shock over the weekend on the scale AND followed by your favourite skinny jeans could not fit (or bottom up), I frantically digged out all of my dark colour pieces out of my closet today. I blame the long "hard" winter. What can you do when it's dark, cold and wet outside? Food always makes you feel better (at least for me lol, or maybe makes me feel too good?) Anyway, bottom line is, I have reached my upper limit when it comes to my size. Unless I want to ignore the facts and get a whole bunch of new jeans that are a size to TWO bigger, time to actually do something about it before we have to shed all these layers in the warmer months to come.
Did you have any recent "wake up" call like I did? Please share so you can make me feel better :)

Not your typical Valentine's Day

I am so glad that I am finally feeling better and I am even HAPPIER those white fluffy icy things have completely disappeared from the ground. What does that mean? It means I can go outside and people are driving like normal again! Phew! We have survived our first winter storm (and probably the only one in the past 5 years)!
While I am still feeling just slightly under the weather, it is Valentine's Day today! I am not going to show you what to buy or what I want to get for today. I personally feel all of these so called holidays are very commercialized these day. They put loads of pressure on people to buy materialistic things. Love can not be replaced by any physical thing. It is a feeling, a touch, a nod and a smile. I have been with my guy for almost 14 years (we started young) and it is still getting better everyday. What makes me happy is to be with the people I love and care and everyone is healthy and appreciate each other.
p.s. sorry for my snowman yeti coat, this is my comfortable coat and it makes me feel better while being sick :)

As always, thank you so much for reading! Hug someone and spread the love :)

Snowed in

This past week has not been great for me. We got an unexpected snow storm on Thursday and this inexperienced city has been in shut-down ever since. I mean, complete shut down. People began to panic and all cars rushed out at the same time. It made driving home on Thursday a huge "adventure" for me. My total drive time was over two hours (normally less than 15 minutes). Then it came to the fact that most stores and all offices were closed (due to the fact no one wanted to leave their home). While being trapped and being bored at home, I got my second cold of the season. Remember I was just sick two months ago? How can I get sick again this quickly?? (sigh)
Anyway, the snow is finally melting today and I am hoping things will get back to normal by tomorrow. I am determined to beat this cold so I am not going to let it control my life for a week!
Thank you for all of your concerns via Instagram. Portland is slowly recovering and it shall be spring after this mess :)
p.s. in the meantime, I am catching up on all the fun and beautiful photos from New York Fashion Week!

Hello Feburary

Enough said, who is SICK of winter? Not only did I get sick this season, I believe my toes have forgotten what the sun looks like all together! Right before these photos were taken, we were actually experiencing slushy snow shower! Crazy weather!! Ok, enough rambling and complaining on something that is totally out of our control. Let's embrace six more weeks of official winter. I intend to wear all of my winter pieces like faux fur/wool coats, leather jackets, warm tights and scarves. After-all, New York Fashion Week is this week. I am really excited to see what my favourite bloggers will bring us. Can't wait to see inspiration pictures from them! Woohoo!
